Maxwell releases ‘Lake by the Ocean’
Gallant’s sound has been described as ‘neo-neo soul’, in which case, he is leading the renaissance of a sound pioneered by the likes of Maxwell. After a 7-year hiatus, Maxwell returned with ‘Lake by the Ocean’, featuring a sound reminiscent of his previous work. ‘Lake by the Ocean’ is the lead single from Maxwell’s Second chapter of his BLACKsummers’night trilogy of albums to be released July 1st.
Maxwell stayed true to his sound and those with a love for the sonics of the neo soul school popularised by D’Angelo, Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill and Maxwell himself will be grateful for his return.
