Two best friends on tour. We went backstage and spoke to Xavier Omär and Elhae about their ‘Never Dream’ tour and uncovered the formula to creating a true love song.
It is no secret that Xavier Omär is known for his evolving sound. He sonically risk takes and on 17th March at KOKO, we uncovered how incredible the risks translate on stage.
From the jump, the support act (Mnelia) captivated the audience. Mnelia truly set the soulful tone for the evening with an electric performance. After her set Elhae took to the stage, we were astounded by his multi-talented presence. From his smooth flow and cadence to his sweet melodies, it was a seamless performance.
As soon as Xavier stepped on to the stage, we knew that this was going to be something to remember. The entire room was in complete awe of his vocals. Xavier quietly demanded the attention of all. However, no one in the room expected what was to come.

1. ‘Blind Man’
We could hear people singing ‘You’re so beautiful, girl, a blind man could love you‘ as we walked out the venue. This rendition of the song was nothing short of iconic.
2. The Surprise Guests brought out by Xavier Omär and Elhae
We were not anticipating to see one guest, let alone two! The first special act was Nippa, his playful track ‘Reverse’ got everyone bopping. Then the duo brought out GoldLink, who brought even more energy to the evening. It was beautiful to see these four creatives unite.
3. The End
It was heart-warming to see the camaraderie between Xavier and Elhae. When they combined forces at the end, the blend of their tones ended the night perfectly. We were hoping to hear a crowd favourite ‘Favourite‘. We can confirm it was worth the wait!
