Fresh off the release of her EP ‘The Right Side of Wrong’, fast-rising British singer / songwriter, Sophie Faith drops a visualiser for Flower. The song closes out the EP and touches on the intricacies of love. Themes of romance-related confusion, betrayal and being misled by a partner are soulfully brought to the forefront throughout.
Despite the song’s downbeat depiction of love, sonically Flowers is wondrously upbeat. Thriving rhythmic percussion and punchy drum patterns are accompanied by the delightful vocals of Sophie Faith. The raw, yet smooth vocal texture of her voice works fantastically well on the ear making for an all round brilliantly soulful song.
As we have come to expect from Sophie Faith musically at this point, striking lyrics that touch the soul hold center stage as is the case on Flowers. As suggested on the song’s reaffirming hook “light me up like the sunshine, and then you drink me till my well runs dry”. Flowers is another showcase of Sophie Faith’s undeniable talent that is only going from strength to strength. Having recently sold out at Village Underground reiterating the love received for her fusion of Jazz, Soul and R&B we believe this is only the beginning.
