Triple threat producer, singer-songwriter and DJ, Emmavie is back with a new single ‘Trick Me’ taken from her new EP ‘What’s A Diamond To A Baby’. Solely produced by Emmavie herself, the track also features prolific rapper, Kojey Radical. The single which is also the intro track of the EP, is bold whilst remaining smoothly soulful in its execution.
As expected, the single is infused with eclectic soul and heartwarming vibes to match. Emmavie fuses digitally produced future R&B sounds and live instrumentation throughout the track making for a well balanced lively feel. Lyrically, the song’s theme is based on love and its ups and downs. Emmavie’s vocals are lush with honey-smooth harmonies that are truly spellbinding. The production on the track is equally as impressive with Kojey delivering an elite verse to top things off.
Emmavie’s music has been on a well deserved steady rise in recent years and has jumped on to the screen in a big way. Her songs were recently being placed on Michaela Coel’s critically acclaimed ‘I May Destroy You’ HBO / BBC series, Batwoman, Oprah Winfrey’s network produced series ‘Queen Sugar’, and MTV’s ‘Teen Mom’.
In addition, Emmavie’s high profile performances have seen her share the stage with Mahalia, Eric Bellinger, Smino, Iman Omari, and The Internet front woman, Syd for Red Bull Music Academy’s Paths Unknown.
Catch Emmavie live in London when she headlines St Pancras Old Church on 16th September, tickets are available here.
