Giovanni Jano, better known as JAEL is a producer, DJ and recording artist from the Netherlands.
This week he dropped the lead single Red Dots, from his debut album Half As Much. Red Dots features LA-based singer, Phabo, as well as production from Canada’s, The Kount.
The single touches on being in a relationship but not wanting to put a label on things as they crave space and time. Sonically, the song is a wonderfully modern soulful vibe. From its thumping Hip-Hop inspired drumline intertwined with a smooth bass line, this is a head nodder from the jump. The visual is just as pleasing with a naturally playful laid back aesthetic on show.
Phabo adds a smooth layered verse alongside JAEL’s smooth vocals making for an all-around ear-warming vibe. On the whole, Red Dots sets the tone of what you can expect from JAEL on his debut album and is another dope example of the modern Soul renaissance across Europe.
