Ruby Francis is submerging in UK alternative R&B as one of the genre’s finest Producer / Songwriters. Her debut EP, Night Time Therapy was released in 2017. Upon its release she gained backing from BBC Radio, the two singles featured receiving a total of 15 plays from the likes of Jamz Supernova, Ace and DJ Target. Plus support from New Music Friday playlists on Spotify. In addition, Ruby has received applause from WONDERLAND, Gal-Dem, Noisey and Okayplayer. Nylon crowning her “The British Answer to the Internet”.
Speaking on her musical upbringing to Gal-dem Magazine, “Both my parents have always had a passion for music (their vinyl collection is nuts!).” With a musician dad that played bass in various bands back in the day and always had equipment set up, there was always a wide variety of music playing through out the house pretty much every day. She noted listening to “lots of Chaka Khan, Level 42, Stevie Wonder”. That richness comes through in her music and production for herself and for artists.
When premiering her song, “Paranoid,” it earned over 70K plays on Soundcloud opening her up to a new audience to really take in the songstress’ silky-smooth brand of R&B. Ruby has worked alongside Shift K3y, a chart-topping producer behind “Touch”. Their anthem hit #3 on the UK Singles Chart.
