Get to know…
Hana is a vocalist from South East London. Taking inspiration from her Moroccan and Brasilian upbringing, Hana makes music with a lush soulful-infusion merged with R&B.
The sweet vibrance of her vocals alone, glides on any instrumental she touches; mixing her angelic harmonies with her heartfelt lyrics. A song for the bedroom playlist includes Mr Jones, a love ballad, with lyrics of adoration for the opposite sex. While Be With U is a soulful iteration on Hana’s love songs. It establishes a beautifully distinct but tender lane for Hana that brings together the best of classic Soul production and Hana’s honey-toned contemporary R&B vocals.
Received recognition from BBC Introducing, WFA Sounds, Ucxded, Fringe Frequency, MOBO Organisation and Have You Heard, Hana is soon-to-be next up in the UK’s soul scene.
Sounds like…
Hana’s soft, honey-toned vocals flow very well on melodic instrumentals. This is a recommended listen if you are a fan of Miraa May, Jorja Smith and the earliest influence of Nelly Furtado – circa 2000. Often she experiments with a more electronic sound, reminiscent of Kaytranada and Shay Lia.
In their lyrics…
Vulnerability in love expressed through ballads. Ranging from the adoration of a partner, to an upbeat song mourning the loss of love (heard in Effects of Time on her latest EP Confessions).
Listen if you’re feeling…
A mellow mood that sounds like a Sunday drive or warm summer’s evening. Contrasting cultures allow a variety of sounds to be found in her work, equally, well-thought-of lyrics are relatable for any hopeless romantic.
