5. Billboard Music Awards 2016

We could pretty much summarise this year’s BBMA as a cleanout by The Weeknd, with a few interruptions from Adele. Either way, R&B / Soul is hot out in these streets! The Weeknd won a total of 8 awards, making him the night’s biggest winner. Big congrats to him! Given a less-than-stellar Prince tribute performance, the stand-out moment of the night was Rihanna’s performance of Love on the Brain. Rihanna served throwback sultry, soulful rasp. She might have put the doubts regarding  her vocal abilities to rest once and for all. She killed it!
