Kwaku Asante is back with his first single of 2023, a lush summer vibes offering, ‘Until the Morning‘. Following a busy 2022 including an EP, supporting Pip Millett and Samm Henshaw. All of this plus his own sold out headline at Village Underground. One of the UK’s rising men in R&B / Soul, Kwaku has set aside a lane for himself. Kwaku Asante’s music brings together his rich music lineage with the Gospel and Jazz he grew up on. Kwaku’s grandfather, A.K Badu, was an executive producer in Ghana – who founded the country’s first record company in 1954, Ambassador Records Manufacturing – and worked alongside musical royalty Quincy Jones and Fela Kuti.
‘Until the Morning‘ was produced by the decorated Sam Posener. Delicious bass and guitar licks lead the funk-filled instrumental to give the song an uplifting spring / summer feel. Yet Kwaku Asante achieves a laid back, relaxing aesthetic on ‘Until the Morning‘.
On ‘Until the Morning‘, Asante sings about the joy of love and intimacy. The visuals for the song depict this perfectly. Showing Kwaku and a lover in tender, joyful moments revelling in each other’s company. It’s the perfect visual for the perfect summer anthem.
You’re sure to love this uplifting earworm. Check the song and visuals above and get into the other new R&B / Soul songs we’re loving this week.
