Ever since amazing us with her once in a lifetime voice on her debut project To Myself in 2019, Baby Rose established herself as one of the most exciting artists in modern soul.
Her new release Go is another prime example of her idiosyncratic artistry. Go was released as part of a double single release with a second track, Flight Club that leans more into a funky rhythm.
On Go, Baby Rose speaks on the rocky road of romance, with Baby Rose pleading with her partner to not abandon their love. As expected, the emotive tone of her vocals are served in abundance so these themes resonate even deeper.
Sonically, the production is soulfully emotive, reeling you in from the jump. The rhythmically soothing drums and thematic basslines make a wondrous backdrop for Baby Rose’s generational voice to firmly flourish.
Added to this is an equally captivating visualizer. Scenes of manic confusion are displayed, tying into the sporadic theme of the song. On the whole, Go further re-affirms Baby Rose’s unique disposition in today’s soul and we look forward to what more she has to deliver going forward.
