A force in the UK R&B / Soul scene, ELIZA has returned with her second 2022 single, Heat of the Moon and we just can’t get enough of it!
Immersing herself in the trials and tribulations of falling in love again, ELIZA conveys these intense emotions through her candid lyricism and soulful melodies. Sharing about the song’s inspiration, she says, “I found the love of all things in his eyes and that’s when I knew he saw the same in mine. ELIZA
Reminiscent of a J Dilla-esque piece, with the slumped beat and bass-heavy production, Heat of the Moon was produced by Finlay ‘Phairo’ Robson (Bruno Major, SG Lewis), drawing inspiration from Neo-soul, Indie, and Hip-Hop sounds.
An abstract yet naturalistic affair, the visual for Heat of the Moon was directed by Charlie Robins (Rudimental, Bonobo, Yellow Days, Jeshi). It follows ELIZA through forests and fields of flowers, where she and two dancers perform expressive free-form choreography.
After her musical reinvention in 2017, we got to know ELIZA through her critically acclaimed album A Real Romantic. The album featured fan-favourite Wasn’t Looking, which she also performed for COLORS in 2017, racking up 25 million views. It has been amazing following ELIZA’s journey ever since, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for her!
