Manchester-native artist Mali Hayes exhumes soul and ambience through her silk voice, and her time to shine is now. After support from Future Bubblers, Help Musicians UK, PRS & MOBO as well as being featured as one of Clash Magazines Artists Set To Rise, Mali sets to continue the journey in the rest of 2020 and beyond. Hayes’ music is with perfumed with vibrant real life stories and is coloured with honesty and soul, also described as a Jazzy-Nu-R&B type Neo Soul.
Mali is an artist from a strong musical heritage. After recording and self releasing her Debut EP, Quiet Silence, in late 2016 with her producer and mother, Mali hit the scene running as she joined Gilles Peterson’s Brownwood talent discover program, Future Bubblers. She performed at The Jazz Cafe and at Giles’ We Out Here! Festival.
Mali is truly one to watch. In the words of Gilles Peterson, (BBC 6 Music): “I was fortunate enough to play demos on my shows here at the BBC by Amy Winehouse, Lily Allen, Erykah Badu and Jill Scott. All premiers. And this is another one I think I’m gonna be proud of in a few years. Remember the name, Mali Hayes”. She has gone on to open for Bilal, Jamila Woods, Alfa Mist, Poppy Ajudha, Blue Lab Beats, Sons Of Kemet, Yazmin Lacey and more, as well as, a collaboration with Foreign Beggars and Maverick Sabre under her belt, Mali continues to establish herself as an artist of real vision, dedication and drive.
