It’s been a steady rise for North London poet / rapper Lex Amor. Off the back of a successful 2020 which saw Lex drop her debut album, Government Tropicana (it’s HARD check it if you ain’t yet!), alongside an impeccable COLORS feature.
Having also featured on Alfa Mist’s recently released album, Bring Backs, she is now back with the fearless new single ‘Ruckus’.
Lex Amor is a riveting wordsmith leading the charge in the ever evolving alternative rap scene. Always standing out for her hard hitting yet laid back flow, ‘Ruckus’ highlights how unique of a spitter she is. Floating effortlessly over a gritty mysterious instrumental produced by Rei Sky, her hazy whispering tone works brilliantly. In many ways, Lex’s cadence on the track blends in as another instrument, adding another layer to the sonics on the track.
Equally striking is the visual, directed and edited by Tyrus. Rendered in greyscale, this ties into the underground aesthetics of the track, which is a dope look all round.
This one slaps from the jump and we look forward to seeing what Lex Amor has next in store for us. Check it out above.
