In these bewildering times, good music truly is the medicine that keeps on giving. This week, Samm Henshaw serves us a dose, with his latest single “All Good”.
The mood is best summed up from the title with Samm delivering uplifting vibes throughout. Production on the track is punchy, soulful and infectious from the moment you press play. Samm backs up the undeniable good vibes with his signature take on Soul, that infuses elements of Hip-Hop, Jazz and Gospel.
Samm highlights the good things in life whilst also striking the balance of the reality of life’s stresses that we should try to avoid. He re-affirms joy by the time the triumphant chorus comes around, singing, “It’s all good baby / Just think I need to loosen up,” as the triumphant choir and horns sections take us all to church.
Inspiration for the song, interestingly, came from a photo of a smiling dog. Speaking on the track, he explains, “You know what you want someone else to feel when they hear the song, and so everything that comes into that is just based off of that feeling.”
