ROMderful, real name Rommel Donald, is a British musician, producer, DJ and multi-instrumentalist. Having built his following and sound via Soundcloud he went on to sign a record deal with Same Plate Entertainment – a med. From his musical beginnings in a heavy metal band, ROMderful has strong Pharell and the Neptunes influences but produces his own truly unique soundscapes. Rom has been featured on Spotify’s “Lowkey”, “New Funk”, and “Fresh Finds” playlist.The Birmingham-born producer, who recently turned 24, released his inaugural album: ‘Press L to Continue’ last year. The project featured 11 tracks, taking listeners through his original sound that so many fell in love with on Soundcloud, and shows off his growth as a DJ since. Having started the project in 2015, the album was delayed due to issues in his relationship and management. Once this was solved, the project was released to fans in summer of 2019.
Romderful, who is signed to Sony’s joint venture label, Same Plate, is equally a layered talent (and just like his musical hero Pharell) plays multiple instruments. In an interview with Dummy Mag he detailed how he first began to learn guitar through Guitar Hero, as well as picking up many other instruments, when he went through a “heavy emo phase” aged 15, playing bass in a death metal band called Rising Struggle.
Flying internationally with his sound towards LA, ROMdeful says he never wants to limit his discography, and champions his diversity on both a solo and featured track. The DJ has worked with artists from multiple scenes, like K-pop artist DEAN and Canadian singer TOBi. Performing on the stages across the world and collaborating with the likes of Jean Deaux, Kehlani and KayFaraway – the colourful creative is set for a wild ride with musical talents being recognised globally.His list of producer credits includes Goldlink, Masego, Jean Deux, Kyle Dion and Duckwrth to name a few.
