19 year old West Londoner and singer, Alana Maria has been making waves with a series of viral performances on Instagram. Her debut single, Happier only further cements her as an artist to watch.
Using an infamous sample of Omar’s 90s classic, There’s Nothing Like This, the single Happier instantly hits you with timeless soulful nostalgic feels. Plus her Aaliyah and Brandy influences are plain to see. That said, Happier far from leans on this as Alana’s melodic flow literally brings summer to your ears.
Alana’s vocal crispness and clarity on Happier are a clear indication of why she is gaining such well deserved traction. Refreshingly, Happier is not the run of the mill break-up song as self-love and well exemplified. The catchy track lyrically hits straight to the point in an uplifting manner.
