The new Rnb music playlist for February’s best releases
2018 is in full swing and the releases are starting to pour in.
February brought EPs from Ravyn Lenae and Charlotte Day Wilson. Wildly different sonically, but both great bodies of work. We sample some of the songs from both projects in this month’s playlist.
Mahalia and Little Simz have teamed up for Proud of Me, a breezy, reflective head nodder on staying authentic as they chase dreams. The duo delivered a video for the track a couple of days ago. We were also blessed with a Frank Ocean cover of Audrey Hepburn’s Moon River. Frank gives the Breakfast at Tiffany’s classic a sparse, lo-fi but hauntingly soulful finish. It appears Frank will be making good on his promise of new music in 2018.
