4. Rag’n’Bone Man took us out of this world
Sound of 2017 runner-up, Rag’n’Bone Man keeps a fairly low profile, seemingly limiting all public appearances to gigs and festival sets. But each one of those appearances is powerfully emotive moment. The man has some pretty strong pipes and a catalogue of belty tunes to match.
5. Laura Mvula owned the stage
Soul singer, Laura Mvula gave one of the best received performances of the weekend, working her charming persona and beautiful catalogue. Laura proved herself to be the ultimate performer, commanding the crowd at a pop-leaning festival with her neo-Soul inspired tracks.
6. A Tribe Called Quest for the last time EVER
Lgenedary Hip Hop group, A Tribe Called Quest headlined the Saturday line-up, taking the stage for a 90 minute set. Following the death of Phife Dawg in March 2016, the group have repeatedly said they would call it quits once touring and promotion for their 2016 album, We Got It From Here, is done.
Backed by rapper, Consequence, the group gave a stellar finale performance with Q-Tip announcing, “This is gonna be our last show as A Tribe Called Quest, ever”. Watch footage from the performance below.
