In the past few weeks, Emeli Sande, JoJo and Rachel Kerr have released new music after having been off the scene for a bit. British singer, Emeli Sande released, Hurts, the first single off her sophomore album, Long Live the Angels, an album that’s being touted as the hallmark of a more confident, honest and even daring, Emeli Sande. It will be released on November 11. In the meantime, watch Emeli’s live performance of Hurts for BBC Radio 1 below and read her interview with The Fader where she opens up about her divorce, meeting her Zambian family, her difficulties with fame on the release of her debut album and how all of this culminated to the music in Long Live the Angels.

Another British songstress, Rachel Kerr, dropped new music in the form of a mixtape featuring covers of several chart hits from a bunch of genres, including Fat Joe and Remy Ma’s All the way up, Drake’s Controlla, Bryson Tiller’s Exchange and PartyNextDoor’s Not Nice. On the mixtape, aptly named Unboxed, Kerr shows off her creative versatility and powerhouse vocals. It’s a fun listen.

Finally, JoJo’s been teasing a new album since she shook off the shackles of her former record deal and began gearing up to release a new album. Her latest release is the title single for her upcoming album, Mad Love. It’s a catchy doo woop vibe uptempo song. Listen below.
