Ray BLK has been non-stop on her touring rounds ever since she became the first independent act to win the prestigious ‘BBC Sound of’ for 2017. She shares the accolade with the likes of Adele, Haim and Sam Smith. Since being thrust quite dramatically into the spotlight, BLK has on the road, but she’s finally found some time for new music.
She teased her latest single this past Monday and it’s finally here. Doing Me is a straight-shooting anthem on being unapologetically you. “It’s about being yourself no matter what and not caring about judgment,” BLK says. “People are going to judge you whether you do bad or good, so you have to do you, regardless.” BLK continues to show her range and experiment with her sound – Doing Me is a pop-leaning jam, made for summer radio spins.
